A quick notice to all of our users:
We're doing a decently large update to CNdb tomorrow, 9AM Central Standard Time. During this time, we expect minimal downtime (30 minutes - 1 hour).
Some highlights of this update:
-- Request Forum put into place as a sub-forum of Clip/Pic Swap
-- User profiles: Share your reviews, favorite celebs, favorite titles... or don't. Your choice! A new menu option will be available when you are logged in. Feel free to let CNdb Community who / what you favor.
-- Notification upon reply. Want to know when someone posts a response to your review? By default, this feature is going to be turned ON. Simply click the "no" button in your profile area, and you'll never receive a notification again.
-- Time to customize your CNdb experience. You'll be able to select what you would rather see -- Actresses, Actors, or Both. Each option will customize CNdb to your wishes. We'll be continuing on this concept as time goes on and feedback comes in. (Please note: the forum is not included in this customization at this time)
-- We've added a few fields to celebs & titles. Our major update to both, is the "AKA" field. We'll be doing more with the AKA as time goes on and the database grows. Movies will have an option to now be marked as TV Show or Movie. We have them *all* marked as Movie, and will slowly updating the database ourselves, but anyone with Junior (or higher) ranking is welcome to help.
-- Editing: We've opened the doors and allowed many correction submissions available. Change up the birthdays, akas, images, the works. Anything that is listed is able to be changed. Bios/Plots + Images are forced to be approved by CNdb Staff.
-- Adding celebs & titles will now allow you to also add (request) an image to be placed for the box cover / bio picture.
-- Reporting: the reporting bugs have been fixed. response time will be back to normal. Still, at this time -- you won't be notified that we handled the request, but this will change. Hopefully in the next update, we'll get all of the notifications wrapped up.
-- Alerts: A much better notification system has been implemented as far as giving our users confirmation on their actions. Any notice will be a deep red & yellow box. (I promise it won't hurt your eyes)
-- The whole sequence of adding a celeb then a movie then a review…. we know there has been some bugs in this sequence and search procedures. Mainly from the smaller named celebs (like "bob", "joe", and "Sam." and the movie "40") We've added an auto-complete feature to these areas that will allow you to select the name. Once you select the name, just click submit/search and you'll see that selection at the top. For now, this should do. We're always open to any opinions you have. So speak up if you have an idea or just a general question/comment.
