Here's the latest-from the New York Times:

Miramax says the movie will be released in Spring 2004 (Where have we heard that before? ). According to critics, they loved Christina's performance, but people seeing the movie are very much turned off by the constant whining her character does . They're afraid that they won't make back their money in marketing and distributing it. So...Miramax, are you listening Heres an idea...release it in DVD, add in the nude outtakes, as many as you can find , let Playboy enterprises market it and you'll be rolling in green.

The movie is already out on PAL VHS and MPEG4 DVD in Russia.

It is dubbed in Russian language, but it features the full nude scene that we've all seen on the Web. (The Web clips were probably made from the Russian video release.)

I cannot recommend highly enough having a PAL-NTSC VCR and a multi-region DVD player. Why be held hostage by American theater chains and MPAA censors? Buy the uncut foreign movies directly. (The Italian film "Malena" is one of my favorites -- not the American version.)

You can find a multi-region DVD player for as low as $40.00 on eBay -- about the same as two DVDs. Every member of CNdb should be watching foreign movies. Another of my personal favorites is "Uncovered" with Kate Beckinsale's only nude scenes. It's available only on Russian PAL VHS and Japanese Region 2 DVD -- if you don't have multi-region players, you're missing all the good stuff.

Slight bit of correction - I have a Region 1 copy of Uncovered, with her nude scenes (well, breasts anyway, not to mention seeing her dark triangle through her panties). I also have a Reg 1 copy of The Hole with Keira Knightly (Pirates of the Caribbean) flashing her breasts - no double either.
Not to say having access to foreign versions isn't a good idea - since I've been looking for an unrated version of Malena (not to mention Monster's Ball) without success.

At the time Sinnema wrote about Uncovered (11/03), it hadn't been released in Region 1 yet.

I believe the Japanese DVD of "Uncovered" is still the only WIDESCREEN version available ...

Is the American DVD in widescreen or pan-and-scan format?

And does it show the scene near the end where Beckinsale is sitting nude on the edge of the sofa, on the far right edge of the screen? She's almost off the screen in the widescreen version -- How is it framed in the American version.

Also, "Prozac Nation" is available on standard PAL DVD in Russia -- now with an English language soundtrack. Having a multi-region DVD player, I am able to watch this complete movie now, before the film is even released.

You can find it for sale on eBay -- where you can also find multi-region DVD players for about the same price as the DVD. ...

Well, here's a correction to my correction. Not only is she topless in a nice scene, in panties, but in the other scene described above, she is sitting on a couch naked after sex. She leans forward to grab a cover, and as she turns to get off the couch, she lowers the cover, but spreads her legs slightly. You can see her dark bush from below for a frame or two - I was very pleasantly surprised. My only complaint is her little boy hairstyle, instead of the longer hair I've seen her in for other movies.
BTW this is the R-Rated version. I don't think I saw any other versions mentioned, and I got this on ebay. From the back of the cover: Standard TV 16:9 Television

I'm no expert on the different aspect ratios, but I believe this means it is shown as it was shown on the screen. I usually avoid widescreen versions if I can, the blank at the top and bottom is annoying to me.
Inside, it says you can access the UNCOVERED special features with your menu key - haven't tried that yet.
There's a sticker over the bar code, but it probably has the same number as the original bar code - 00012236151074U if anyone wants to order it.

Man, now I'm going to have to buy the American version of "Uncovered" to see for myself.

I have seen previous "full-screen" versions (e.g., the Portuguese-subtitled version), but the opening credits were cut off on the sides of the screen, leading me to believe the widescreen Japanese DVD shows more of the original picture.

But it's possible that even the widescreen DVD is cropping some of the top and bottom. I'll have to compare them myself.

Also, the three different versions all seem to have different running times ...
