I doubt that in most normal situations gays are picked on or discrimated against more than many other segments of society (you think it's tough being gay, try being black mutha fucka). Then everyone can feel really superior and good about themselves because they're such a "compassionate and caring" person. It's all so self serving and transparently selfish.

I'm not a homophobe, I'm for gay rights I guess (I'm not even sure what that means, as far as I know there aren't any anti gay laws on the books). On the other hand, I don't think they're entitled to any higer level of protection, recognition, or status than any other segments of society.

I really don't give a shit about gay marraige and I think both sides are being whinny little bitches about it.

What's so annoying about the gay agenda is that they're so pushy and obnoxious about it and there's a blatant attempt by all the media to manipulate public opinion. Any gay cause or person is automatically given extra coverage, sympathy, and support. The pro-gay side is always treated as the heros and the opposition is automatically the villians. It's not even about rights and tolerance anymore, everyone is expected to love, embrace, and celebrate gay life.There was an incident a few months ago after they dropped the "don't ask don't tell" policy from the military where a unit in Afgahnistan took down the American flag and flew a rainbow flag in it's place. I find that offensive (glad to see you're fighting for gay america, but at least some of our boys are actually fighting for everyone).

There is starting to be a little backlash. Recently the gay columnist and activist Dan Savage did a show in Seattle (a very liberal city) where he viciously attacked Christianity and Christians for their anti-gay history. People actually got offended and walked out and he was called a "bully" by the audience, but the media wouldn't condemn what he said. Anyone else attacking someone's race or religion would be called a racist. Why is it OK for a gay activist to attack people for their religeon, but if Louis Farakahan had said it the media would have jumped all over him. There seems to be a feeling of entitlement now, where they get extra consideration and can get away with things that no one else can because they're "special". True equality means you're treated like everyone else and given anything extra from the media or society.

Bummer about the Shakira thing. She doesn't have that much of a window left. She's getting older and that "ripe fruit" will soon start spoiling. A PB spread would've been really hot ten years ago, less hot today, and probably even less hot in the future
