Hi. I’m new to this forum. Since this is my “virgin” posting, I guess it’s kind of fitting that virgins figure into my topic.

All the recent ad nauseam publicity about Katie Holmes and her new fiance (who shall remain nameless on this posting!) had me thinking about how she reportedly remains a virgin at age 26. I recall how she had done a nude scene in The Gift five years ago and had made mention on David Letterman, right after shooting the movie, of still being a virgin.

Let’s just say I have a thing for virgins who pose nude. I’m trying to come up with as many actresses as I can who have done a nude scene in a movie and have indicated (or have had someone else indicate) somewhere along the line that they were still virgins at the time they did the scene.

In addition to the aforementioned Ms. Holmes, I can think of:

Moira Kelly, who like Katie Holmes spoke publicly about her strict Catholic upbringing, and spoke of her own opposition to premarital sex and her reservations about playing a character who has premarital sex, but did nude scenes in Chaplin and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me among others before her own marriage.

Mariel Hemingway, who mentions in her recent autobiography Finding My Balance that she was a virgin when she did nude scenes in Personal Best and Star 80.

Jane March; when she did The Lover, the director of the film indicated that she was a virgin (but also tried to hint that the sex scenes were authentic and that her defloration had actually been captured on film).

Alexandra Paul, who told People magazine in the late 1980s about how she had never been seriously involved with anyone, was typecast as “the virgin next door”, and had welcomed doing nude scenes and playing a whore as she did in 8 Million Ways to Die because it forced her to examine her own sexuality.

Elizabeth Berkley, who after she did Showgirls insisted to People magazine that her eroticism in that film did not come from experience; apparently, a lot of people thought that her gyrations during her swimming pool sex scene with Kyle McLachlan were so ridiculously exaggerated that she HAD to be a virgin!

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Can anyone think of any more, or conversely, can anyone refute my listing of any of the five I’ve mentioned so far?

Katie also stated in an interview that she and others in the cast of Dawson's Creek frequently imbibed in adult beverages and that she once drove into a tree while drunk. She was a virgin? If she was a virgin in her Dawson's Creek years, then I have no doubt she lost her virginity in a drunk haze and would prefer to think she remains a virgin until she did it sober.

Liz did her formative actor training on a sitcom for kids. Over acting and exxageration were commonplace on "Saved by the Bell". She just ran home to mama in her acting technique. Some lucky stage hand on Saved by the Bell made her a woman.

In which scene did this so called penetration happen? I've heard this claim before and tried to spot it but to no avail. Please elaborate.

First, you must have the director's cut. It happens during the second sex scene. The camera is being moved at odd angles. The shot is in in shadow, but you see a dark phallus shaped object between his pelvis and hers as it sinks into her genital area.

If what you describe is it, a more accurate description would be "possible penetration".

Considering what has happened to American culture in the last 30-40 years, I would be highly skeptical of anyone in the entertainment industry over the age of about 15 who claims to be a virgin. They may have arrived in Hollywood that way, but it wouldn't last.
Not that it's provable either way.


Someone mentioned Mariel Hemingway: I seem to remember hearing rumors of lesbianism, which leads one to ask for a definition of virginity.

Speaking of which, wasn't there a story back in the '80s that Dodi Fayed, the man who was dating Princess Diana at the time of her death, tried to buy her (Brooke Shield) virginity for 10 Million bucks except that she already lost it?

Dean Cain took Brooke Shields virginity. Brooke said so herself on Oprah, I think. If it wasn't Oprah, it was some other talk show, but she said so herself on t.v.

Dean is a year younger than Brooke, I guess she raped him.

Actually it was in Queen Latifah's talk show. Brooke said "I gave it up to him"

Add Jenny Agutter to my original list. I got hold of a copy of the special edition Director's Cut DVD of Walkabout, which included commentary by Jenny and director Nicholas Roeg. The way Jenny talked about being at the age (16) at the time, like her character, where she was just beginning to be aware of her own sexuality, she made it pretty clear that she was a virgin at the time.

Madeline Smith still had her virginity at the age of twenty when she went topless in The Vampire Lovers, according to her interview in the BBC documentary Crumpet. She lost it a couple of months later (didn't say how).
