I've seen that "Mascot" folder before in other files. I don't know why that happens, but it's somekind of a winzip thing I think where you end up with the video file, but then it throws in a folder titled "mascot" and inside the folder is a file with an identical name to the video "nameofvideo.mpg" except it's much smaller (like a few hundred bytes) and it doesn't play anything... it's just garbage.
I clicked on it and it did nothing (and I've clicked on those before and they've always done nothing).
Hope you get it sorted out aceofclubs... If it won't let you delete the file, it's probably trying to play it. Shut down and reboot if possible.. maybe try rebooting in safe mode and then delete it... It kind of sounds like your computer is "confused" and trying to play the unplayable mpeg file in the mascot folder.
Like I said, I've clicked on those before and they've never casued me a problem, but we all know computers can do some weird things at times. I still don't know if this is why your crashing, but if it won't let you delete it, it's trying to run it... also if you (hopefully) get running smoothly again, you may want to do a little PC maintenence, like run system mechanic or something. It could be some of your drivers are a little hosed or something.
and i was wrong in the previous post when I said I thought it was a hyperlink... I actually didn't remember what it was, I just I remembered it was garbage.
