I want to consolidate all of the database recommendations made so far onto a single thread as a personal "note to self" here. That way I'll actually remember to get them added in the CNDB v.2.5 update coming soon. If you have a post that is still an outstanding issue, please let me know:

from player28:
Today it possible to sarch for actress or movie.
Would it be possible to search scene description?

Another thing that would be nice, is to have the option to list movies by year.

from TriviaMan:
I tried to look up '2 Days in the Valley' in the browse by title section but I didn't know where to look because the headings go from A to Z. It was not under 'Two' either. I found it because I looked under an actresses name that was in the film and I found it that way. But how would you find it directly?

from everyone:
Fix "Failed sending mail" PHP error upon successful forum submissions.

Woohoo!! A sticky... I am impressed. OK since you asked. Here is the list.
Maybe an associated poll for each of the items so that you will know what your users want implemented in priority (yeah, yeah, I know mine will be at the BOTTOM of that list, but hey at least you are willing to ask for the list)

0. Allow users to search scene descriptions (yeah already posted but it is my main feature I want)
1. Allow users to edit their Database entries.
2. Allow users to block specific users posts to database (both forum and database) (aka for those non-BushLeague people)
3. Re-implement the AKA feature
4. Allow users to edit database titles and names.
NOTE: this changes would be submitted to you for approval, this will allow you to avoid taking the time others are willing to take to find the errors, they correct the error, once you approve the change it will happen.
5. Make the Recently reviewed posts link bring us to the most recently reviewed post, NOT to the earliest post.
6. Allow users to sort the database posts by rating, and date posted
7. Allow users to identify BAD reviews and items in the database and send them to you without having open a thread in the forum. Possible a feature like dragging the browser icon to an inbox on the database screen that will just send you the link and the user can attach a message as to what needs fixing in that link.
**8. (update 10-17-05). When reviewing a movie allow users to select from a checkbox the body parts that are visible in the review. It would be even better if content would be in this list (underage/incest/explicit) for those of us who want to avoid it (or maybe even so that those who want to find it can get it faster.

Now my DREAM feature is what I call the Bare Facts feature.
I want a list of all actress/titles in IMDB.com. When I find an actress in the database to be able to have that link search CNDB and MrSkin to see if she has had any nude scenes.
But since you cannot control IMDB here is the alternative called the Bare Facts Feature.
Maybe you can request that MrSkin add a link to YOUR database to read reviews about movies and actresses in his database.

Rocco-rules:
I want to know why they give us the ability to edit our (mostly trivial) posts on this forum, but no ability to edit/delete our entries into the far more important database.

The end result is a somewhat, neat & tidy collection of (mostly) BushLeague vidcap reviews and Slavedriver flames, and a cluttered, sometimes very inaccurate & redundant collection of CNDB reviews.

I'd much rather have the ability to update my CNDB entries than my forum entries.

It might be helpful if you could track the first person to add a film or person to the database. This might reduce the number of entries with no actual reviews. I have several to post in a clean-up topic.

Thanks!

From Immy:

When looking at a film's page it's easy to see which scenes haven't been reviewed since the phrase "Add Reviews" is seen next to the name. But on the person's bio page this doesn't appear and you have to page down to figure out which one is missing. It would be a tremendous help if "Add Reviews" was on the bio pages too.

After adding an actor or actress review, the user should be brought back to the main-movie-page / actor-list so that s/he can quickly add another review without having to navigate to the movie listing again (I don't use the BACK button any more because it usually results in duplicate entries).

Ha... that is funny.
CNDB is not willing (or able) to post a deadline. They might actually fear they have to commit to it. Actually they posted a time frame for when they were going to release some change but that post has been deleted.
OH... and any post I had that quoted that time frame were also deleted.
Given my experience with new versions, the are usually about 1 to 2 years, so we are at 6 months since the post of this thread some we still have quite awhile to post.
But HEY it is free so we cannot do anything but wait... and their sponsors sure are not going to push them to do a new release.
But at least they are moderating the forum better.

Thanks for your support. I would delete the above post since I am part of a vast conspiracy to keep CNDB users in the dark about everything, but then again, to think there is some sort of conspiracy would also assume there's some sort of organization here.

From lonelyheart:

I found a listing for Julia Maraval with one scene description for one movie. À cause d'un garçon 2002 When I clicked on the See More Reviews button, a blank movie page came up. No title, stars, or reviews.

I'm all for full disclosure, but I don't care much for the clunky handling of the Editing Notification on the posts. Clutterish. The only reason for editing, other than the clarification of a blunder, is to make the entry more clear and to tidy-up the page; the big clumsy line with who-did-this-and-when sort of negates this needed intention. Perhaps a simple, clear E or an Edited would suffice, with details available behind the scenes for those who really want them.*

*Or just put those details beside the original info, replacing the needless "post subject".

—ed.
